…to a patio party! This past weekend, I wanted to get out and enjoy the weather. I attempted to go to Shelby Farms for the Down to Earth Celebration, but that was an epic fail. Good thing: there were a lot of people. Bad thing: there were too many people and not enough time for me. Womp! On to the style plan… I wanted to go with light layers and fun colors. The day was absolutely gorgeous and sunny with a little breeze, which is perfect outside/patio weather!!!!
I opened the closet and heard this Peter Pilotto shirtdress calling my name.
I know folks are probably over this collection by now. I remember how The Style Lineup and I were knocking on Target’s door the day the collection debuted. It don’t think it sold very well because there were quite a few pieces left to go on clearance. I fell in love with a couple of prints and picked up a few pieces, but I’ve yet to wear them. Now is as perfect a time as any, no?? Especially before the Alexander Wang x H&M collaboration is launched, which I probably won’t be able to get my hands due to the lack of H&M in Memphis. I’m sure online won’t be an option…I learned my lesson with Isabel Murant.
Sorry. Got sidetracked. Back to this shirtdress. I honestly wasn’t really in the mood for a dress, so I grabbed some jeans, a black tank, and decided use the shirtdress as a vest. Gasp!
Style File ~ Shirtdress as Vest – Peter Pilotto for Target, Tank – Target, Jeans – Gap
Lace Up Heels – Zara, Necklace – DSW
Mani/Pedi ~ CND Vinylux ‘Cake Pop’
Lip ~ Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Shameless (Pssst! It’s an exact dupe for M.A.C. Heroine)
All in all, I had a great time at the patio party and I love how the shirtdress turned vest came together. I didn’t notice the Janet Jackson moment “my girls” were having until I started editing pictures, so never mind that.
According to Q, many pieces in your wardrobe can be remixed and transformed in a number of ways. Turn a shirtdress into a vest; a dress into a top or a skirt or both; a fitted jacket into a belted top. Either way, you can get more out of your closet and look fabulous while doing so!!!
Can you think of any pieces you could remix?
Did you pick up anything from the Peter Pilotto collection at Target?
As always, thanks a million for stopping by!
Yours in Stilettos,
Love how you styled it as a vest instead of a dress! I’m rocking a PP shirt today as well!

Thanks Kayla! Which shirt? I still have 2 more pieces (a shirt and a dress) to work in.
