Casually Mixed Up | Stripes + Leopard

Mixing prints is an art, you know? One can’t just throw on 2 prints and voila! No, no, no. There are a few unspoken rules about proportion, print size, and color that should be considered (in my humble opinion).  And while I absolutely love the daring, rule-breaking, pattern-mixing genius of Solange Knowles, I tend to stay more on the conservative side of the track. Occasionally, the mood hits me to venture out of my comfort zone, and when I do, I opt for one of my favorite (and one of the easiest) combos to mix: leopard and stripes. For a casual weekend outing, I anchored the combo with probably the most comfortable black pants I own. Seriously. But, that’s another post for another time. On to my soft, subtle mix…

According to Q, stripes and leopard are an easy way to step into the world of print mixing.  Start with a striped top, and add leopard with easy accessories like shoes, scarves, or a handbag.  You can always pump up the volume when you feel more comfortable.  If you’re like me, you’ll need a few times to get accustomed to it!

As always, thanks for stopping by!
