Wedding Style (on a Thursday)

The summer wedding season is still going strong, and the fall brides are anxiously awaiting their turn.  I will be attending the wedding of a longtime friend and her dream guy next weekend (that’s 3 down and 2 more to go.)  I don’t know about you, but whenever I receive an invitation, I immediately start thinking about what I’ll wear.  Well, the folks at Lover.ly have me thinking in a completely different direction.  I get to be a bride again!  I was asked to style a bridal look for a specific venue.  My choices were city glam, the beach, and a rustic setting.  My wedding (3 years ago) was on a beach in Mexico on the Riviera.  Just thinking of it makes me giggle.  While I loved it ( and would do it the exact same way again}, I’ve always wondered how I would’ve styled myself had I gotten married in Memphis.  City Glam would be perfect.

So go with me to the rooftop of the Madison Hotel, affectionately known as the Twilight Terrace, overlooking the mighty Mississippi with a gorgeous view of our famous bridge.  The month, April.  The time, sunset.  There would be a light breeze to welcome us with our closet family and friends.  The tables would be exquisitely dressed like this:

cityglamCan you picture it?  Breathtaking.  Just perfect.  Of course, I’d be a vision in none other than Ms. Vera Wang.  Makeup would be flawless.  Jewelry would be simple and classic.  I’d be naturally glowing on what would be one of the happiest days of my life.  Oh, and you know there HAS to be red Badgley Mischkas.

City Glam Wedding
No headpiece because that’s just not my thing.  Now that my hair is longer, I’d probably do some version of this:

That’s my city glam wedding style in a nutshell.  What do you think?
