Homecoming is a celebration of beloved alma maters, alumni, family, friends, friends that feel like family, and our sorority sisters and fraternity brothers. This year, I got the chance to experience homecoming at another HBCU (Tennessee State University) for the first time, and I. Had. A. Blast!
Most sorors and frat guys jump at the chance to get laced in their letters for the occasion. Well, I pledged in 1996 and I’m not really the soror who’s gets all decked out in Delta from head to toe. Plus, I didn’t want to be dripping in paraphernalia for somebody else’s homecoming. So, I went for a subtle display using basic black, a collection of pins, camo, and, of course, a splash of red. Low key but 100% DST! Oh, but when “Set It Off” comes on or especially when I hear “Cash Money taking over for the ’99 & the 2000,” low key goes out of the window and that young Delta girl starts coming out.

According to Q, homecoming and sorority attire doesn’t have to be limited to a basic tee! It’s okay to be creative with the way sorority love is displayed. You never know, it might just start a new trend! <I can’t wait to see MY line sisters in a couple of weeks! I truly can’t believe it’s been 20 years!>
Cheers to being unconventional with sorority style and Oo-oop my sorors!
