A recent Girls Day Out included a matinee show at the Orpheum theater followed by dinner and drinks. A LBD was definitely in order, and I had been dying to wear this one with puff sleeves. An artsy dress perfect for an artsy occasion. Instead of accessories in basic black, red, or the leopard I truly love, I decided to go with something a little different for me…blue.
I’ve admired this color combo for a while, but never tried it myself. The shoes are showstoppers by themselves (I should really wear them more often), but I thought the necklace really pulled the entire look together to give me simple black and blue in the chicest way possible. It was waaaaaay more chilly than I preferred AND I was going to the theater (said in the most bourgeois voice possible) so a little faux fur was necessary. Gloves too. And I had the song “Fancy” playing in my head.

According to Q, black and blue may be slightly out of the box, but you can work it with the right pieces/accessories. A good basic black foundation will make the accessories pop and the color combo will definitely make a statement.
Cheers to stepping out of your style comfort zone!
It seems we had the same idea to be bold and step out in fur today! Loved your post.
