Sisterhood with Style

If you remember this post, you know I’m a Delta girl through and through. Tomorrow marks the 104th year that Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been gracing the world with her presence.  This past November, I celebrated my 20th year as a member of this wonderful sisterhood.  My line sisters and I gathered in NOLA where it all began for a little reconnecting, community service, and a fabulous photo shoot to commemorate the occasion. I was on the style committee, and used Polyvore to produce the visual concept. We truly brought the concept to life, and I absolutely loved how our outfits came together.  We are the Sounds of Blackness. Fall ’96. Beta Gamma chapter. Dillard University (New Orleans). Drops mic.

According to Q, sisters the slay together, stay together. I know that’s cliche’, but that weekend was one to remember, not only for the style, but most importantly for the bond we share. I love my line sisters, and this reunion gave me a renewed sense of sisterhood.  It inspired me to become more active again!  I can’t wait to see what happens when all 26 of us can get together.  I truly look forward to many more years of scholarship, sisterhood, and service with the best sorority EVER!

Cheers & Happy Founder’s Day sorors!
