Nine Oh One

If you know me, you know New Orleans has a special place in my heart.  It’s my second home. But Memphis will always be my first. I love New York (seriously) and any tropical place with a beach you can name; No matter where I go, I’ll always rep the 901, or shall I say the Nine Oh One. When I saw this tee at a local boutique, I knew I had to have it. I also knew I’d style it with a blazer or midi skirt. The blazer won first dibs, but the skirt is coming later. Stay tuned.

This look is super casual, and it is what I wore to my first book club meeting.  A little nugget about me: I love reading!  I’ve loved reading since back when Eric Jerome Dickey was the ish.  Long time.  Anybody remember Milk in my Coffee?  I read quite a bit for work with NP journals and guideline updates, but I try to always have a book to read for pleasure on standby.  You know, to take me away my everyday life.  There’s nothing like getting wrapped up in a good book and read about somebody else’s drama.  Laugh with them.  Cry with them. Give side eyes and eye rolls with them.  Wondering what happens next!  Well, I’ve been looking for a great group of women with whom I can commune and chat about good books. And I think I’ve finally found it. Our current book: The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead.   The first meeting of the year was in midtown Memphis, and you can’t get more NINE OH ONE than that!

According to Q, graphic tees and blazers just go together like Louis & Vuitton. It’s my favorite outfit (so I’m probably biased), but this combo takes the guesswork out of outfit planning and can be as casual or as dressy as you’d like. Just do it!
