#MemphisFashionWeek 2017: Emerging Memphis Design Project Recap

Saturday was a super busy day for me in general, but I was glad I got to end it with my favorite night of Memphis Fashion Week, The Emerging Memphis Design Project (EMDP). The EMDP aims to cultivate new and/or local designers, taking them from sketch to finished product and giving them a platform to showcase their talents. Think Project Runway without Heidi, Tim, and Zac.

There are few different categories: Teen, Singles Collections, & Mini Collections. The show opened with EMDP alum Tiena and ended with the #MemphisFashionWeekend attendees voting on our favorites. Check them out.

TIENA

Jayla Slater (She’s only 15 y/o!)

Really cool jumpsuit with detailed cape.

Pamela Saavedra

Heidi Newsom

Casey Beck

Mary Ambrose‘s Mini Collection brought some samurai heat with her unconventional materials!

Tiena’s secretary bow dress had me swooning.  Heidi’s fringe skirt was awesome.  Casey Beck’s leather duster was to die for. And Mary Ambrose slayed…literally! Do you see why this is my favorite night?!
