Shift to Gray

Mother Nature has been all over the place lately.  Menopausal with hot flashes one day.  Freezing with rain the next.  This week, in particular, has been quite chilly and reminds us that 1) it’s still winter and 2) we don’t need to put away our coats and tall boots just yet.  One piece that I can always count on during any season or weather is the shift dress.  Shift dresses are super easy to style and loose enough to hide any lurking lady lumps, especially for new moms.  I was drawn to this particular one because of sleeves and the color.  I wore this to my first postpartum GNO, dinner and the theater to see Alvin Ailey.  I think the gray provided a nice neutral anchor to the outfit and the reptile clutch tied everything together.  I was comfortable, but felt quite flirty and feminine.  A little drama on the ears and sultry dark lip were perfect for a night out on the town with mis amigas!

According to Q, shift dresses are the perfect choice when you need an easy outfit option.  They can be also be styled for the office, church, or a GNO.  Just add some fun accessories like statement earrings or a statement necklace, grab a cool clutch, and a bold lip and voila! Instant chic!

Cheers to shift dresses! May they be colorful, functional, and chic!
