My blogger boo, friend, and photographer Kim of KPFusion recently hosted an event at one of the hottest hotels in town, The Guesthouse at Graceland. Not only did we get to hang out with fellow bloggers in the city, which is always a great time, we also got to tour the hotel. Just steps away from Elvis Presley’s Graceland, the guesthouse opened it’s doors a few years ago and one of the first things you will notice is the lavish decor. We were greeted by one of the most beautiful lobbies this side of the Mississippi. I had been to the guesthouse for an event or 2, but this time I was able see more of the amenities they have to offer. We got to sample the amazing food from the 2 restaurants on site, and of course, we got to toast the growing blog community with some awesome cocktails. Our tour guide, Ms. Ann, was a wealth of knowledge when it came to all things Elvis. She shared stories and let us in on some history as it related to the design of the hotel, like the story behind the chandelier and the grand staircase. There is a full theatre, an amazing outdoor pool area, and they even have a nightly peanut butter sandwich bar. We just got a glimpse, so I’ll definitely take some time to enjoy a room for the night and do little more exploring of my own. Thanks for hosting us Kim and The Guesthouse. I’ll definitely be back.
I know Elvis sang about blue suede shoes, but it was too hot to wear mine. I was coming from work so I decided to throw on my blue midi skirt and opted for basic black to let the skirt stand out (there’s a hint of shimmer…you see it?). I grabbed a cool belt to snatch the waist and my fave day-to-night mule. This silhouette is easy and perfect for a hot summer day and transitions effortlessly from work to happy hour.
Skirt : J. Crew (old) (pretty pleated option)| Tank: BR Factory (similar BR version)| Mules : Sam Edelman (similar)| Bag : Tory Burch via Nordstrom Rack (similar mini version) | Belt : Gucci (similar with gold buckle)
According to Q, head to Elvis Presley Blvd and stop by The Guesthouse at Graceland for a stay. Enjoy the food and drinks, which were presented beautifully and tasted delicious, and even make your own version of the PB&J. You’ll definitely want to lounge by the pool to beat this heat too!
Cheers to the growing blog community and the swanky places where we gather!
