Sundara Wellness : A Place for Women

Sundara Wellness is a collective of healthcare specialists with a focus on the wellness of women through a holistic, personalized approach.  This little gem is nestled in midtown Memphis and offers a variety of services including yoga, pilates, meditation, pelvic and physical therapy, massage, nutritional counseling, and even primary care.  I had the pleasure of touring the historic space and experiencing a few of these offerings with some fellow bloggers and it was ahhhh-mazing!

First things first, the yoga/pilates and meditation session.  It was a healthy dose of some much-needed relaxation after a long workday. I’m really starting to really get into yoga, so this was my favorite part. Yoga enhances the mind-body connection while helping to increase flexibility and blood circulation. I absolutely loved practicing in such a tranquil environment (picture low light. Candles. All around peace. Ahhhhh). Sundara offers several types of yoga for all practice levels, individuals, and groups.  Added bonus: the first class is always FREE!!! See the full schedule for yoga HERE and pilates HERE.

After meeting the staff and learning more about the services offered, we noshed on some healthy snacks and kombucha mocktails. It was my first time drinking kombucha, a probiotic drink that promotes healthy digestion and helps boost the immune system.  I was a little iffy about it at first, but I would definitely drink it again! I was truly intrigued by the concept of pelvic floor therapy and learned that many issues women face on a daily basis can be directed related to their pelvic floor health.  Things like fertility and sexual dysfunction, bowel and bladder problems, and menstrual issues (heavy bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, etc.) can be resolved with pelvic floor therapy.  This was entirely new to me, and I’m very interested to learn more and experience this therapy for myself.   We also got a glimpse of the acupuncture services in the form of an acupuncture facelift, which I didn’t even know was a thing.  But now that I know, this is definitely on my list of things to do!

The three-story space is warm and inviting, and I loved relaxing vibe of the treatment rooms. The ladies at Sundara Wellness believe self-care isn’t selfish and it definitely shows.  They understand that women often put themselves second (and sometimes third and fourth) behind busy work schedules and the demands of being fab mommies and wives.  So, these ladies truly encourage women to focus on preventative health and promote us being kind to ourselves in every way so that we can always be at our best.  If you’ve been following me for a while, you know this is right up my alley, and I’m totally here for it!!! Check out their website for more information and to schedule a class, treatment, or consultation.

According to Q, Sundara Wellness is a great place for women of all backgrounds to experience the ultimate self-care and relaxation.  The collection of services offered by this amazing group of professionals is top notch, and I can’t wait to fully experience acupuncture, pelvic floor therapy, and more yoga and meditation.  A huge thank you to Andrea of Andrea Fenise for the invitation and Sundara Wellness for having us.

Cheers to self-care and flourishing from the inside out!
