A couple of weeks ago, Memphis Fashion Week wrapped up another great year of fashion and fun. As usual, I was camped out on the front row ready to take it all in. The week kicked off with Fashion Night Out on Thursday (see my recap HERE).
After FNO, it’s time for the runway shows!! Day two showcases featured designers and this year did not disappoint. Tanginika by Tangie opened the show followed by This is Slone, Demi Blvck, and Tiena Gwin (a local fave). Jodi Brewer Couture closed the night out with some fabulous bridal looks. Check out my fave looks from Memphis Fashion Week night deux.
MY STYLE :: The unspoken dress code for the night was cocktail chic so I chose to go all black in the form of a jumpsuit with a little train detail + a pop of yellow. Simple yet statement-making. Perfect for mingling and photo ops, twirls, & lots of dramatic descents down red staircases!
Jumpsuit : Solace London (rent it via Rent the Runway) | Heels : Zara (old) | Earrings : Kenneth Jay Lane
Night three of Memphis Fashion Week is my favorite night, the Emerging Designers Showcase. We get to see fresh new talent that starts as just a sketch and a concept. It is super exciting to see the actual garments walk the runway. There is a teen division, singles collections, and mini collections with prizes up for grabs. It’s like Project Runway in person and all of the audience members are Tim Gunn, Nina, Zach, MK, Georgina, & Heidi!!! This year’s EMDP show started with R. Gene Clothing. A local favorite l, Siss Viss, closed, and both gave us an amazing presentation. IT WAS A SHOW, LADIES & GENTLEMEN!!! I felt like I had been transported into the tents of NYFW. Probably the best I’ve seen in the 5 years I’ve attended MFW. I posted quite a few looks on my IG stories and they were well received. Here are my favorites from the night.
Day 3 Photos :: Ziggy Mack (Fomoloop)
MY STYLE :: It was raining cats and dogs!! No, it was worse! An entire monsoon! The whole day! I was really over it and I changed my outfit a million times. I decided to lean more on the casual side with a simple printed dress, but I slid in a slight print mix with a pair of fun striped sandals. I topped it with a denim jacket since the rain brought a little chill. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a full picture but here’s a little snippet. And I know I’ll definitely wear it again so I’m sure you’ll see the whole thing soon enough.
Dress : J. Crew (old) | Sandals : Zara (old) | Nails : Melissa (The Blonde’s Nails)
According to Q, #MemphisFashionWeek keeps getting better and better! The atmosphere was buzzing and full of anxious fashion fans ready to see some great style on the runway! And that’s exactly what we were graced with! Looking forward to next year!
Cheers to Memphis Fashion Week and the awesome team and designers that make it possible!
