SUMMATIME FLY

Summer is hands down my favorite season of the year.  Maybe because I was born in August. Maybe because summer is so cool and laid back.  Maybe because people seem to happier in the warmer months.  Days are longer.  Patios are poppin’ and day-drinking is way more acceptable.  Maybe I just like it hot! I don’t know.  But what I do know is that I love a good sunnie-sundress-sandal situation or a good printed dress-statement jewelry-bad ass shoe moment and these combos can only happen most effectively during the summatime.

We are in the dead heat of summer, but we still have quite a bit of warm weather remaining, so here are a few things/essentials you’ll see with just about every outfit I wear from May to September.  They truly make my summer wardrobe complete.  So, if you don’t already have them, those summer sales are just around the corner so you’ll be able to snag a few things at a great price. 

BAGS! BAGS! BAGS!

Gone are the basic pocketbooks (as my mother and elders sometimes say).  Cool accents (like tortoiseshell), an interesting shape, or a great, vibrant color can make for an interesting conversation and add a super cool girl vibe to any summer outfit.

STUNNA SUNNIES

Do I even need to elaborate?! Summer equals sun and you can’t be caught in these streets without a pair of fly sunnies.  Name brand or not, a great pair of sunnies provide the eye protection you need and all of the cool points you can count.

STATEMENT JEWELRY

Give me all of the fringe, the dangles, and the cool colors!!! Talk about a wow factor! Even the most basic jeans/denim cut-offs & tee outfit can be instantly upgraded to fab with the perfect pair of earrings, a bomb necklace, or a bracelet stack that would make the great Iris Apfel jealous.

PRINTS! PRINTS! PRINTS!

There is something about an amazing print that can elevate your outfit (and mood).  Abstract prints.  Palm prints.  Doesn’t matter.  Prints, especially the fun, colorful ones, just scream summer!
