Winter Date Night

So listen.  The millennials can frolic about in frigid temperatures all scantily clad, but as for me and my house, we go on dates in weather appropriate attire and we’re still sexy.  What does one need for a sexy winter date night look?  If you ask me, I’d say 3 things: an off the shoulder sweater/sweater dress, patterned tights, and boots/booties. I think there is something super sexy about a little shoulder action.   Patterned tights add texture to the look and give him a little peek-a-boo action too. Booties and boots can be sexy, too, especially those of the stiletto persuasion. Extra points for over the knee! A statement coat and cool gloves polish off the look.  See I believe that one can be covered and still sexy, and date night is the perfect time to add a little extra sass.  Bae will thank you!

Ok. It’s chilly, you’re dressed and looking good, but where do you go? What do you do?  We recently had a fantastic date night where I wore this outfit, and I’ll share the details.  We started out at a local restaurant, Southern Social, but we didn’t get a table like we’d normally do.  Instead, we sat at the bar.  Why?  Sure the bar is a little busier and noisier, but at the bar, you have to sit closer.  You see where I’m going with this??? Sit close.  Speak in each others ears.  Heck, give a few extra pecks.  Sometimes date nights can get a little predictable, you know? So why not do something a little different.

While at the bar, we grabbed a couple of glasses of wine and some appetizers to share.  Pssst! Use this opportunity to “share” to your advantage.  Feed each other and make it sexy.  When was the last time you did that???  Ok, let’s keep going.  We finished the pregame at the bar and headed to a live music show at a local jazz spot.  We purchased VIP tickets, which included a couch/loveseat as our seating for the evening.  And let me just tell you, that was conducive to lots of cuddling and closeness, giggles and goofiness.  It’s date night, right? So take full advantage. And what’s a date night without a little dancing.  Slow.  Close. Whew! When was the last time you did that? There’s a theme here.

After that, we ended the night in the lobby of a new hotel to lounge and partake in a little more date nighting because clearly we didn’t want it to end.  We grabbed one last cocktail and Uber’d home.   I felt sexy.  He loved it.  There were plenty of laughs, good music, and most importantly, connecting.  The night was lovely. When was your last date night?  If it’s been too long, fix that sis.
