Breakfast vs. Brunch

One thing I’ve missed while being sheltered in place is BRUNCH!! I have some favorite dishes that I can’t wait to sink my teeth into when I’m ready.  I’ve enjoyed making my pancakes at home (I’ve finally found the perfect “recipe” and brand),  there’s a difference between breakfast and brunch!! I’m sure you knew that, but it’s my blog and here’s what I think.

The Outfit | Who really gets fly for breakfast?? Not me. At home, one is still decked out in PJs.  When going out, it’s usually jeans and a tee.  Maybe joggers with sneakers.  Comfort is key with breakfast because it’s about to go down.  Omelets and pancakes and bacon and biscuits, oh my! We need all of the room for all of the carbs and it’s totally worth it! Now for brunch. the outfit is next level fancy and fly! Because I mean, the fusion of breakfast and lunch calls for a little more umph, right?? Take this outfit for instance.  A little sexy.  A little chic.  And perfect for pop fizz clinking with your my girlfriends.  I’m definitely brunch’n in this outfit! It was the perfect lewk for a spring brunch and stroll downtown, but outside was closed and we were in the house. Insert really long eye roll.

The Drinks | Mimosas and bellinis at brunch definitely trump the coffee and juices of breakfast. Even Bloody Marys (as awful as they are) have more swag than orange juice.  There really isn’t much more to say.  You can’t have brunch without a little libation. Well, you can, but I have 2 words: bottomless mimosas!

It’s chicken and waffles.  Sweet mixed with a lotta savory.  It’s hollandaise sauce rich (because everything is better with a little hollandaise sauce).  It’s shrimp and grits and quiche with gourmet French toast fancy! It starts off a leisurely Saturday or Sunday in the best way possible! And I love it!

**You can easily recreate this look with a sleeveless knit or body con dress (like this one) or in any color.  Add a cardigan (I always cold in restaurants and it adds a layer of dimension to the look) and a hat + peep toe booties and a bold lip and VOILA! Instant brunch chic!**

According to Q, you can’t go wrong with breakfast or brunch, but give me a weekend with some good weather and girlfriends and I’m choosing brunch every time! Plus, with outside being closed for what seems like forever, I’m using any reason to get dressed and toast it up!
